Transit to Sandton

There are several ways to safely and conveniently travel from the ORT International Airport to Sandton, Johannesburg. We strongly recommend that you use the Gautrain for the quickest and easiest access. Below are the options available:

Gautrain

The Gautrain is a rapid rail system that runs daily from 05h15 to 22h00 approximately every 12 minutes.

Ride-hailing Taxi

Uber and Bolt ride services are mostly available in all major cities in South Africa on mobile apps. As a rider, you can request to pay by credit card or cash.

Accredited Shuttle Taxis

Meter taxis can be requested from the airport information desk.

Car Rental

Several car rental companies are available to book a car for the period you need. You must have a valid driving license from your country of residence printed in English, if in any other language you will need to obtain an International Drivers License.

Hotel Shuttle Service

Some hotels offer shuttle services at an additional cost, prior arrangements must be made with the hotel.
